BIOGRAPHY

2000

They started playing many gigs at numerous different venues, at the same time as continuing their street performances in Shibuya, Tokyo twice a week. These performances attracted all generations, with a crowd turn out of anything from 300 and up. At the end of the year, they landed a gig at Shibuya's "nest." Tickets were sold out, and they became the talk of the town even before their debut.

2001

Feb.
They released their 1st mini-album, [pe'z] through apart. RECORDS. and just 1 week after the release, they ranked in at No.1 in the Indies charts at numerous record stores in Shibuya. Soon after, they topped the Indies charts at every CD and record shop in Tokyo.

Jun.
They released their 2nd mini-album [HAYATO (The Ancient Japanese)]. They performed in "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '01," which is one of the biggest music events in Asia, and which features artists such as Neil Young, Alanis Morissette, Oasis, Eminem, Vincent Gallo etc... They also performed in "Organic Groove," and "JAZZ'IN," - which are 2 other big music events.

Oct.
They were put in charge of making of the theme songs for the radio program "TIME FOR BRUNCH" on Japan's No.1 radio station "J-WAVE." They uses these songs to create their 3rd mini-album [OKOKOROIRE]. To mark the release of this third mini-album, they performed at Club Quattro in Shibuya. The crowd topped 800 people..

2002

Apr.
After signing with major record company "Toshiba EMI (Japan)," their 1st major mini-album [Akatsuki (Red Sky Of Dawn)] was released. This album ranked in at 35 in the billboards in the instrumental section.

May.
To celebrate the release of their major debut, they performed at the "LIQUID ROOM" in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Tickets were sold out almost immediately, and they pulled in a crowd of over 1000.

Jul.
They released their 1st single [Hale No Sola Sita ~LA YELLOW SAMBA~ (Under A Clear Sky -The Yellow Samba-)]. They also played in 10 big outdoor music festivals all over Japan, including "NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL '02 in Madaro" "Mt. FUJI JAZZ FESTIVAL 2002 in Shizuoka," and "Rising Sun Rock Festival in Hokkaido."

Sep.
Their 1st full album, [KUGATSU NO SOLA (September Sky)] was released. They ranked in at No.10 on the billboards which is an outstanding result for an instrumental band.

Oct.
They went on their 1st tour of 14 clubs all over Japan. Tickets for every venues were sold out, and Japan seemed enthralled with PE'Z's new style of music.

2003

Jan.
They released their 1st live album [REALIVE TOUR 2002 ~Odoranya Son Son~ in TOKYO (Dance Or Be Sorry)].

Mar.
They received an award for New Artist Of The Year at the 17th annual "Japan Golden Disc Awards." They went on their [REALIVE TOUR Spring 2003 -Taenaru Neiro (Unbelievably Beautiful Sounds)]. Yet again, all tickets were sold out.

May
[HANASAKU DON BLA GO!], their 2nd mini-album was released.

Jun.
They performed at 12 different venues for their 1st Jazz Club Tour [Cookin' Up Melozzy Night -Taiji (pre-confrontation)].

Aug.
Their 2nd maxi-single [DRY!DRY!DRY!] was released. They performed in numerous big festivals all over Japan. Hiizumi Masayuki (keyboard player) collaborated with the star Shiina Ringo (a famous Japanese pop artist) in an all Japan tour. They participated in the re-mix's of a famous Japanese R'n'B duo called "CHEMISTRY's" 8th single [Ashita E Kaeru/Us (Return to Tomorrow)], and Fantastic Plastic Machine's 4th album "too" renewal album [Zoo].

Nov.
Their 3rd maxi-single [Daichi Sansho] was released. They went on an all Japan tour [REALIVE TOUR Winter 2003 - Bushi Wa Kuwanedo Takayouji]. Again, all tickets sold out.

Dec.
Their 2nd full album [KIWAMARI ZUKI (End To A Year)], and a collection of Promotion Video clips [PE'Z's Video Clips] was released.

2004

Jan.
They performed their 1st overseas street concert in Seoul, Korea. They were a huge hit with the thousands of people who came to watch.

Feb.
They started their all Japan tour [REALIVE TOUR Spring 2004] of 22 performances at 13 venues.

Mar.
Their first remix album [PE'Z COLOR VOL. 1] was released.

Apr.
They performed an extra day on their [PE'Z REALIVE TOUR Spring 2004 - Final Show] on the 3rd at Hibiya Yagai Ongaku-do. Tickets were sold out.

Jun.
They performed at the Mesa Pop Con in Seoul, Korea. They released their 2nd CD in Korea [PE'Z REALIVE TOUR 2002 -ODORANYA SON SON- in TOKYO].

Jul.
They appeared in over 10 major summer music festivals and events including [FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 04] and [Jounetsu Tairiku SPECIAL LIVE].

Aug.
Their third full album [SUZUMUSHI] was released.
They performed in [2004 ETP FESTIVAL] held in the Olympic Soccer Stadium in Korea.
This was their first appearance in an overseas music festival.

Sep.
They released [KIZASHI] -Road to the World- vol.1 REALIVE IN KOREA - a DVD featuring footage of their June 19th show [PE'Z REALIVE at KOREA] and a short documentary.
They released their 4th CD in Korea, [SUZUMUSHI]. They released a single called [AUCTION], in the Kansai Prefecture.

Oct.
They performed their [PE'Z "Cookin'up Melozzy Night" -Hadashi-] at Motion Blue Yokohama.
All tickets were sold out.

Dec.
They performed their all Japan tour [PE'Z REALIVE TOUR 2004 Winter -Chappui Chappui DON'T Pocchii-]. (5 performances at 3 venues).
All tickets were sold out. They performed extra nights of their [PE'Z "Cookin'up Melozzy Night"-Hadashi-] at Osaka Blue Note, and Fukuoka Blue Note.

2005

Jan.
They performed their first street concert in 4 years to which over 1000 people came to watch.

Mar.
They released new album ["Tsukushinbow"] from the label "Roadrunner Records".

Apr.
They began first regular radio program "Sessions 4" in FM NORTH WAVE in Hokkaido. They performed all 45 concerts publicly with national 31 places by a tour of "PE'Z REALIVE TOUR 2005 SPRING -Tenonaruhohe-"

May.
They performed a street concert in an open space before Hongik University in Korea.

Jul.
They performed the final concert of the tour at Dom Art Hall in Korean Seoul city. They performed in numbers of outdoor festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival.

Sep.
They performed an independent concert "PE 'Z@NHK HALL-FUSHI- eve LIVE" at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in September. They performed "PE 'Z@NHK HALL-FUSHI-" in NHK HALL in a hall alone for the first time on the next day. All tickets were sold out from release in one week.

Oct.
They appeared in "in the city" in British Manchester on October 3.
Then they gave a performance in London on October 5.

Nov.
They released new album ["CHITOSEDORI"] on November 16.
They served as Cyndi Lauper and costarring of a world-famous singer with CX program "our music 2" broadcasted on November 19.

Dec.
They released their 2nd live album ["PE'Z REALIVE 2005-FUSHI-"] on December 7. This was done in NHK hall with the thing which recorded the independent concert that they did in a hall for the first time on September 21.
They performed the final independent concert at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo in 2005 by a day of December 15 from December 12. The title assumed it "four seasons of Tokyo". All tickets were sold out by a minute immediately for four days.

2006

Mar.
They appeared on the stage of a music festival called "CMW Festival" in Tront on March 2.
They appeared in "SXSW" [which is known as the world's largest music festival] on March 18.
They went on their first US tour of 9 performances, started from N.Y. March 20.

Apr.
They did all Japan tour "PE 'Z REALIVE TOUR 2006 Spring -Anata no asu ni tsukare o nokosanai tameni (We recover your fatigue)" of 24 performances at 18 venues from April 16.

May
They performed extra shows on their "PE'Z REALIVE TOUR 2006 Spring" on May 29 and 30 at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO.

Jul.
They released their 1st cover album ever [NIPPON-NO-JAZZ (THE JAZZ FROM JAPAN) -SAMURAI SPIRIT- ].
They released the first part of their 2nd DVD [KIZASHI Chapter 2 -Jyugoshounenhyouryuuki-].

Aug.
They performed numerous outdoor festivals all over Japan, including "Summer Sonic 2006".

Sep.
They released the latter part of their 2nd DVD [KIZASHI Chapter 2 -Jyugoshounenhyouryuuki-]. And also released an E.P.called [LIVE FOR THE GROOVE E.P.] in collaboration with a British soul singer NATE JAMES.

Oct.
They went on tour "PE'Z REALIVE TOUR 2006 Fall -AKANE-" for 7 performances in 4 venues. Performed at JAZZ clubs and halls. And their extra show will be held on Nov.17th at SHIBUYA C.C.Lemon Hall.

Nov.
They performed at an event called "ZIP-FM MUSIC GROOVE from Nagashima Spur Land" between an interval of their own live-tour "PE'Z REALIVE 2006 Fall-AKANE- ".
At the tour, they performed at NAGOYA Blue Note on Nov.8 and 9 then at FUKUOKA supper club Dazai on Nov.11.
After that they came back to Tokyo and performed extra show at Shibuya C.C.Lemon Hall on Nov. 17, and made a big success on it.

Dec.
On Dec.6, they released a Promotion Video omnibus DVD called "PE'Z no Video Shu Sono2".
KOU, the drummer of PE'Z released a drum sampling CD on Dec. 8 that contains everything of his unique playing style.
And they brought together their trilogy BRAND NEW ALBUM and their activities for 2nd STAGE to made up an event called "EN-MUSUBI 2006 -Jyonetsu no yukue-".
It was held at LIQUID ROOM ebisu.

2007

Mar.
They will release a brand-new abum [a double album includes 32 tracks] on March 28th,
followed up with all Japan tour from April to the middle of June.
March32,2 piece set the original full album unprecedented '-..the occurrence and sleep.. FUNNY DAY & HARD NIGHT -'
is released to 3/28. It performed to"AP BANG Tokyo environmental conference" done in 3/16 Arakiba STUDIO COAST as BAND ACT, and it performed to "M+LIVE" in Shibuya C.C.Lemon hall in 3/28. 　

Apr.～Jun.
A nationwide tour starting with 4/1 Chiba LOOK. ｢PE 'Z REALIVE TOUR 2007 spring?[Ne] and here ..there.. ..going.. ..going... ｣(36 place 38 performances) went. An additional performance in 6/5 and 6/6 Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO ended of large flourishing businesss, too.

May.
It performs to a short film 'High pitcher'.It is open to the public in the excite cinema, and becomes a topic before it opens it to the public as the first expectation level ranking place is acquired.

Jul.～Sep.
7/27 Appearance ..FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '.. is decided to 07.
Additionally, appearance decision also of event of summer in succession. Long-awaited field sound LIVE DVD and "PE 'Z REALIVE ～day that occurs and sleeps～Hibiya large music temple compared with the @2007.4.14" is put on the market to 9/5.

Oct.～Nov.
Nationwide tour of autumn｢PE 'Z REALIVE TOUR 2007 autumn～Energetic sun Herr and small chic moon.～｣(four place eight performances)All halls perform.
It participates in Masayo Yamazaki COVER ALBUM "COVER ALL HO!" of 10/31 release by M-8 "Yearn to Andalusia".

Dec.
Customary special LIVE"EN-MUSUBI 2007 ～FUNNY DAY & HARD NIGHT～" is held in the liquid room.
The ticket is sold-out on the same day.
The start of vocal collaboration unit　pe'zmoku was declared with this LIVE.

2008
Feb.
Album "Jazz SAMURAI MEETS THE ENEMY- of the black ship" that covers jazz standard numbers 2/27 overseas is released by the bookstore Village Vanguard
limitation with which the whole country develops.
Topics are collected as it is not related because it was notified by the blog of Ohyama five days before the sale, and comes out one after another in the store in the whole country at the release date sold out.

May.～Jun.
The tour in commemoration of the sale of the jazz of the black ship. ｢PE'Z REALIVE 08 ?NOT JAZZ!! BUT PE'Z!!! IT IS PE'ZZ!!!?｣(seven all place 12 performances)However, [kima] fixed [shiteiru].
